This French watch brand began its story in 1947 in the French mountains of Charquemont. Michel Herbelin, an advocate of traditional and fine watch making, decided to set up his company as a stand against the newer, mass production of watches that was becoming popular at the time.

The now well-recognised Michel Herbelin logo made its debut in 1965, and today the brand is still run by the founder’s sons, Jean-Claude and Pierre Michel. About 150 000 watches are made a year and exported to more than 50 countries worldwide. Even though each watch is French made and designed, they have Swiss movements, which has led to the brand’s tagline: “Swiss heart, French soul”.

Michel Herbelin’s three category styles are called classic, boutique, and sport.
