A winning recipe for a new dim sum bar that’s sure to be at the top of everyone’s dining list. Gary Cotterell, freelance writer and project manager, has teamed up with lifestyle gurus 
Zanele and Zodwa Kumalo to create TOWN, a fusion dim sum bar that’s part of the Work Shop New Town development at Newtown Junction in the Joburg CBD.

If you’re a fan of these deliciously light and tasty Asian treats, then chef Canaan “Sbu” Msongelwa’s take on them will satisfy your cravings. The bar has a rich and textured interior, combining natural wood, metal and glass to mould a space that, while open and airy, is also cosy. Considered details like the cute 
panda chopsticks, vintage Champagne flutes and a canopy of greenery, along with an extensive wine list, make for an intimate and memorable dining experience.
