The house of Louis Vuitton first designed those distinctive and coveted
travel trunks in 1854, but it was only in the 1920s that the first Louis Vuitton signature fragrance was launched.

Collectable perfume bottles and vanity cases had created an appetite for something to put inside them, and in 1928 Heures d’Absence was swiftly followed by Je, Tu, and Il. In 1946, two more Louis Vuitton fragrances were
launched: Réminiscences and Eau de Voyage. But that’s all we know. Not a single olfactory signature remains of those first Louis Vuitton fragrances, and while some original bottles still exist, no one knows what went into the first bottles of scent from one of the world’s leading luxury brands.

In true luxury style, there’s been absolutely no rush to create another Louis
Vuitton fragrance. Exactly 70 years after those last scents were launched, one of the world’s most famous master perfumers, Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud, was given carte blanche to come up with a range of fragrances that would reinvent the true craft of luxury fragrance — and not to hurry over the task. And that’s all the beauty world heard, for four years.

It took Cavallier-Belletrud all this time to fine-tune a new signature for the magnificent seven — what beauty insiders are calling the newly launched Louis Vuitton fragrance collection. The famous trunk-maker has always placed innovation at the heart of its creations, and it was important that what he came up would not only be rare and valuable, but that it should also anticipate the future.

What Monsieur Cavallier Belletrud developed was a unique range of seven fragrances, from one that carries the unique scent of natural Louis Vuitton leather to another that almost explodes with the scent of fresh raspberries good enough to eat.

Alluring actress Léa Seydoux is the face of the new fragrance, and Louis Vuitton has also given this luxury fragrance a sustainable “green” touch. While your first purchase will come in  a Marc Newson-designed apothecary-style
glass bottle, you’ll be invited to visit the store for a refill when it’s empty.

The collection comprises these seven scents: the sparkling floral Rose des Vents, the tuber-rose inspired Turbulences, the unique and leathery Dans la Peau, the mountain-fresh Apogee, vanilla-rich Contre Moi, the velvety Matière Noire and raspberry delicious Mille Feux.

Each scent is available in 200ml and 100ml bottles, with the pièce de résistance a Louis Vuitton travel case that holds three full-size bottles from the collection.
