Pretty Yende first heard opera at the age of 16 with the Flower Duet from Delibes’s opera Lakmé, which played in a British Airways commercial. This proved to be a pivotal moment for the singer, who then decided to become an opera singer. Since then, the soprano has made her debut at La Scala in Milan in 2010 and her Metropolitan Opera debut at the age of 27 in 2013.

16th September marks the date of her new album release, entitled, A Journey, in Sony Classical International. And the followng month the singer begins a variety of tours starting in Paris on the 14th of October with Gaetano Donizetti’s  Lucia Di Lammermoor.



Yende is the first artist in history to win first prize in every category of the International Belvedere Competition in 2009 and prize winner at Plácido Domingo’s Operalia competition  in 2011, also in all categories,

A Journey is now available on CD from Musica and other music retailers as well as for download on SA iTunes, Google Play Music Store and for streaming on Apple Music, Deezer, Simfy and Google Music.
