“Interesting cars, regardless of price, have a provenance that many drivers identify with. This will ultimately influence their perception of the experience. I know that’s true for me and it’s my desire to investigate these often unexplored aspects within the car community,” says Bastos.

What is your dream car? We all have different answers. We take a drive with skateboard videographer and car enthusiast Byron Pietersen in his Subaru WRX STi. It is clear that this was as much a choice of style as it was a choice of exhilarating wheels for Pietersen. There are cars that are quicker than the Subaru but none quite so untouched by automotive modernity.
