For aficionados of excellent coffee and design, Warm & Glad had become a go-to remote office destination. The regular patrons delighted in the creamy scrambled eggs and the vinyl collection on rotation and experienced a mild form of anxiety as the threat of change became imminent. So I was pleasantly relieved to discover that while change is always stress-inducing, the results can be edifying and positive.

Warm & Glad has moved downstairs into the space formerly known as The Jungle, and has taken on the guise of Asian fine dining with a popular street-food twist. The fact that the chef hosts Ramen Thursdays and has a way with a Wagu beef burger does not harm the cause for change and his chef’s table is apparently a charming addition to the eating circuit in Joburg.
