Hiking is a favourite Capetonian pastime, but sometimes you want an aerial view you don’t have to sweat for. The Centenary Tree Canopy Walkway, or boomslang, as it’s informally known, opened in May last year and has fast become a family favourite at the expansive Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Giving panoramic views of the gardens, Table Mountain and the Cape Flats, the curved steel and timber bridge snakes through the canopy for a 130 breathtaking metres.
