Fourthwall Books, the brainchild of editor Bronwyn Law-Viljoen and designer Oliver Barstow, has published some of the country’s Finest South African art and photography books in recent years. Previously based at 44 Stanley, the publisher opened up shop in Braamfontein late last year. Just off bustling De Korte Street, the airy space is shared with The Library – a production and design consultancy which specialises in heritage projects. Double volume glass windows frame the street view while inside, Fourthwall titles such as William
Kentridge’s 2nd Hand Reading and David Southwood’s Milnerton Market are showcased. The shop has already hosted a number of launches and events; keep an eye out on Fourthwall’s Facebook page (facebook.com/FourthwallBooks) for news of more.
